Rheem RH2TY Air Handler & Electric Backup Heat
The indoor half of your heat-pump system.
The outdoor unit gets the attention, but the indoor air handler is what moves conditioned air through your home. Our RP14 and RP15 all-electric packages use RH2TY combinations with a specified electric heat kit.

UNDERSTAND YOUR OPTIONS
What an air handler does
It contains the indoor coil and blower. In summer, air passes over the coil as heat and moisture are removed. In winter, the coil delivers heat supplied by the heat pump, and the blower circulates it through the ducts.
Airflow and controls
RH2TY is a constant-torque air-handler family with two-stage airflow capability and non-communicating controls. It is not the same as a continuously variable, communicating indoor blower. We explain how the actual outdoor unit, thermostat, and air handler will work together.
Why the electric heat kit matters
Electric resistance heat can provide supplemental or backup heating. Its capacity, electrical requirements, and control settings must suit the installation. A larger heat kit is not an automatic upgrade; it can change electrical requirements and operating cost.
What we check before recommending it
Available space, service access, drain routing, supply and return airflow, electrical capacity, and the approved indoor/outdoor match all matter. Your proposal should identify both the air-handler model and heat-kit model.

WHAT TO EXPECT
Expert Service. A Personal Touch.
You should not have to decode a model number to feel comfortable with your decision. Tell us what your current system is doing, which rooms bother you, and what you want to improve.
We listen, explain what we find, and walk through the equipment and installation options. You see the scope and price before approving the work. When the job is finished, we check operation and explain the controls and care.
A few questions worth asking
Is this the exact system on my proposal?
This guide explains an equipment or package family. Your proposal identifies the actual models, capacity, accessories, installation work, and terms for your home. Ask us to walk through any difference.
Will a higher-efficiency system fix an uncomfortable room?
It may help, but airflow, duct condition, insulation, and sizing can also be involved. Tell us about the room before choosing the replacement so we can explain what the proposed work will address.
Can I compare payment options?
Yes. Ask us to explain available financing options alongside the equipment choices. Financing is subject to approval and applicable terms.
