Know what you are choosing
How a central air conditioner works
Your air conditioner removes heat from indoor air and releases it outside. The indoor coil, outdoor unit, blower, and ductwork work together to cool the home. A cooling-only AC needs separate heating equipment for winter.
Capacity should fit the house
A bigger unit is not automatically better. Oversized equipment can cycle too often. Sizing should use your home’s actual characteristics, with airflow and ductwork considered as part of the system.
Understand the efficiency rating
SEER2 describes seasonal cooling efficiency under test conditions. It helps compare equipment, but it is not a promise of a particular utility bill. Ask how the options differ in installed cost and everyday operation.
The installation matters
Proper airflow, refrigerant charge, and the condition of your ducts affect performance. We explain the proposed work so your estimate covers more than an outdoor unit.
Tell us about humidity, noise, hot rooms, and the way your current system runs. Those details help us understand what you need from the replacement. We will compare suitable equipment and explain the controls, care, and applicable warranties.
