Rheem EcoNet Smart Thermostat
Your comfort controls should make sense from day one.
The EcoNet thermostat is included with our RD16 and RD18 systems. It gives you a central place to manage comfort at home, with connected features available through the EcoNet app when the thermostat is set up on Wi-Fi. We show you how to use the controls that are available with your installed equipment.

Everyday comfort, right on the touchscreen
Change the temperature, choose the operating mode, and manage your comfort settings from the wall control. During handover, we explain the screen, how to make an adjustment, and how to return to your normal schedule. You should not have to guess what a setting means.
A schedule that fits your household
Set temperature schedules around the times you are home, asleep, or away. EcoNet also offers a one-touch Away setting. Tell us how you use the house so we can help you understand the settings instead of leaving you with a schedule that does not fit your day.
Control from your phone
With a supported Wi-Fi connection and the EcoNet app set up, you can check and adjust comfort remotely. That can be useful when plans change or you want to check the house while you are out. App access and remote notifications depend on connectivity and account setup.
Temperature and humidity are different parts of comfort
EcoNet can display indoor humidity and provide humidity-related controls with compatible equipment and settings. It does not add a standalone dehumidifier or fix a moisture source by itself. We explain which functions your system supports and how they are configured.
Reminders and system alerts
Supported systems can provide maintenance reminders and equipment alerts. If something needs attention, read the message and contact us rather than assuming the thermostat can repair the issue. An alert is useful information, not a substitute for diagnosis or routine maintenance.
How it fits an RD16 or RD18 system
The thermostat is the control you use, while the outdoor unit, indoor equipment, and installed control configuration determine how the system responds. Your RD16 or RD18 proposal includes EcoNet; we explain the operation available with that specific indoor/outdoor combination. The same thermostat does not make every equipment pairing identical.
Optional features need the right equipment
Features such as room zoning, additional temperature sensing, and connected water-heater control require the appropriate compatible equipment, accessories, and setup. They are not automatically included just because the thermostat has the EcoNet name.
What we help you understand before we leave
We walk through temperature changes, the schedule and Away setting, available humidity settings, and any relevant reminders. If you want connected control, we explain the Wi-Fi and app setup. Keep your account credentials private; ask us any time a screen or alert is unclear.

This guide explains an equipment or package family. Your proposal identifies the actual models, capacity, accessories, installation work, and terms for your home. Ask us to walk through any difference.
Will a higher-efficiency system fix an uncomfortable room?
It may help, but airflow, duct condition, insulation, and sizing can also be involved. Tell us about the room before choosing the replacement so we can explain what the proposed work will address.
Can I compare payment options?
Yes. Ask us to explain available financing options alongside the equipment choices. Financing is subject to approval and applicable terms.
